Why Tinubu deserves to be president, after Buhari – Nollywood actors

Support for All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu was boosted on Wednesday as Yoruba Nollywood superstars openly endorsed the former governor of Lagos State.

The cast noted that their support for the APC’s national leader had become imperative following his support for the film industry, practitioners and the former governor’s influence across the country.

The actors made their position known in a music video shared by a veteran actor, Yinka Quadri, where some of his colleagues took turns supporting Tinubu’s candidacy.

Those featured in the music video were Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, Taiwo Hassan, Femi Adebayo, Shola Kosoko, Faithia Williams, Saheed Balogun, Murphy Afolabi, and Eniola Ajao, among others.

In the one-minute-thirteen-second music video believed to be from the League of Actors, the comedians who took turns speaking in Yoruba justified why Tinubu deserved to succeed Buhari.

Sharing the video clip on his Instagram page, Yinka Quadri noted that it was the South West region, especially the Yoruba people’s turn to become president.

He wrote:

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a bridge builder across regional, ethnic and religious boundaries who is able to unite the country. We have identified him as an outstanding resource manager and seasoned administrator and are confident that the nation needs him in the next dispensation.

We have found a man who is willing to sacrifice everything he has for his country…the least sacrifice we can make is to let the whole country see the leadership we have seen, feel the compassion we have felt; and moving the creator of modern Lagos (Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu) to the molder of a great Nigeria.

Nigerians, we must rise up and give Tinubu an unequivocal charge: to usher Nigeria into a phase of growth with several leaps forward, as Lagos State – under his guidance – left the launch pad he two decades ago, stayed the course and is now the 5th largest economy in Africa (ranked as a nation). We must not fail to give this tireless leader with such a bold spirit, creative instinct and gripping mission a clear mandate to make the biggest difference possible in our collective trajectory of growth and development in as a nation. What would it take? Our massive turnout and vote count in the 2023 presidential election.

I, Alhaji Olayinka Quadri, pledge my support to BAT not because I was paid to do so, but because of Asiwaju’s support and influence with everyone over the years. The majority of actors who venture into politics today do so thanks to the influence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. By the grace of God, Asiwaju will move from Jagaban of Lagos to Asiwaju of Nigeria. For all your sacrifices, for all your efforts, God will reward you this time…. If we look at the rotation of leaders in Nigeria over the years, it is very clear that it is the Yoruba’s turn to be president.
BAT, Eyin lol kan (you’re next).
