SOMETIMES Viagra users end up having extremely difficult luck.

Nine British guys over the past five years say the erectile dysfunction drug has caused them hearing problems – but others have had far worse complications.

The side effect of hearing was also felt by the late Hugh Hefner, who said he “would rather have sex than have her hearing”, according to his former lovers.

But the Playboy mogul, who died aged 91 in 2017, isn’t the only person struggling with Viagra.

A Briton reported having a permanent crease in his penis after taking the treatment.

While others have ended up with painful priapism – painful, long-lasting erections.

Here, others reveal their most extreme problems.

Inflamed penis required amputation

A man even needed to amputate his penis after taking Viagra.

Gentle Ramírez Polanía deliberately took too many drugs in an attempt to impress his new girlfriend with her sexual prowess in 2013, according to reports.

But the Colombian, who was in his 60s at the time, ended up with a painful erection that lasted for several days.

Doctors who treated him found Polanía’s penis inflamed, fractured and showing signs of gangrene.

Doctors said they had to amputate the limb to stop the spread of the tissue death.

“Like stabbing glass in the eye”

Electrician Nat Thind had an erection a month after taking Viagra in 2019.

Only 26 years old at the time, Nat ended up needing surgery on his penis.

When the surgery failed, the doctors spent three days trying to find a solution until Nat became naturally flabby.

But then he was unable to get an erection.

“It is no use that I am depressed by what happened,” he said at the time.

“I’ve even gotten to the point where I can see the fun side of what happened. I had a healthy sex life before and obviously it’s not possible for me now.”

Others were luckier, having only endured hours of agony instead of weeks.

Erectile dysfunction and the use of Viagra:

Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition, especially in older men.

It is estimated that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 will have it to some extent.

It is defined as the inability to get and maintain an erection.

Viagra is available without a prescription in the UK – but should be taken with careful consideration, after talking to a doctor if you feel comfortable doing it, and at the recommended dose.

Pills like Viagra work by relaxing the blood vessels – temporarily increasing blood flow to the penis, resulting in an erection.

They usually get to work within 30 to 60 minutes of taking them, but Viagra, for example, can be taken up to four hours before sexual activity.

Since its debut in 1998, it has largely enabled millions of men to take control of their sex lives safely. But if taken in the wrong doses or if you don’t need it, it can cause problems, as these examples show.

Mike Dowdall took a Viagra pill to enhance a marathon sex session with his wife Amanda.

But hours later, the father-of-three’s penis was still “straight as a pole.”

“I was in agony and my penis was throbbing,” Mike said.

“After two showers – one hot and one cold – she was still upright.

“I started to panic and the stress made it worse. Amanda bought me an ice pack, which helped me for a while.”

Mike added, “An erection of this intensity that won’t go away is like someone stabbing glass in your eye over and over again.”

His erection of horror didn’t end until 9 a.m. the next morning, with another 24 hours of pain afterward.

“The vision has turned green”

Some who have decided to roll the dice and buy Viagra online have reported even stranger symptoms.

Jake Land was only 21 when he decided to try the pills on an outing in Manchester.

“Within an hour of taking the pill my vision started to turn green,” he said.

“It was like someone had filtered everything.

“Everything looked blurry too and despite the effect of the drugs I felt like someone had kicked me really hard in the groin.”

After having sex three times with someone he met during the evening, he spent the next day suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Jack added: “I threw the rest of the pills away and I will never take them again unless prescribed by a doctor.”

had to take time off from work

John Browne had a bad time with the Viagra he bought online.

The Herefordshire chef suffered from a ‘blind’ headache and a feeling of heat when he took the pill before a date.

“My heart was pounding, the headache was the worst I have ever had and I felt terrible.

“I ended up taking the next three days off. ”

A guy even ended up breaking his penis after taking Viagra.

The hapless father’s erection didn’t go away after having sex, and then disaster struck the next morning when his child jumped on him for a morning hug.

According to the British Medical Journal case report, the 36-year-old man developed “sudden severe pain” and was rushed to hospital.

A penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is struck with considerable force.

In this case, the father was taken for surgery where a blood clot was drained and the tear in his penis repaired.

The operation was successful and the patient was able to have a normal erection again.

naked rampage

Some Viagra-related incidents have gotten even stranger.

A tourist reportedly went wild naked at a Thai airport after taking too many pills in 2018.

New Yorker Steve Cho is said to have terrified other vacationers as he ran around the terminal, even throwing excrement at staff.

The naked threat reportedly later told the officers who ended his one-man riot that he had “taken too many sex drugs” and he apologized for the blast, agreeing to pay for any damage.

A statement from Phuket International Airport said Cho admitted “taking too much Viagra.”

He was taken to the local police station before officers sent him to a nearby hospital for routine medical examinations and psychiatric evaluation.
