Over-the-counter Viagra pills went on sale in Ireland for the first time.

Starting today, Viagra Connect is available without a prescription at Boots stores nationwide.

It is the first erectile dysfunction medicine in Ireland to be available over the counter from your pharmacy without a prescription.

Customers will need to go to the pharmacy counter and ask for Viagra CONNECT, or ask to speak with a pharmacist in private.

The pharmacist will quietly ask a few quick health questions to make sure the product is right for them.

Boots pharmacist Donal O’Sullivan said: “Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common occurrence, affecting around one in ten men – almost 200,000 Irish men.

“Erectile dysfunction can be caused by many factors, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

“Boots pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals who fully understand the difficulties of erectile dysfunction.”

Viagra connect is now available to buy without a prescription from Boots Ireland pharmacies

Where Viagra connect is provided, pharmacists will advise men to consult their doctor as soon as possible – no later than six months after first receiving the product, so that any potential underlying conditions such as diabetes, hypertension arterial or heart disease can be investigated.

Viagra CONNECT costs 25€ for a pack of 4 tablets / 45€ for a pack of 8 tablets.
