Town of Grover woman died in Saturday morning crash


Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve reports that at 5:08 a.m. on Saturday morning, the Marinette County Dispatch received calls of an accident on US Highway 41 and Kasal Lane in the town of Grover involving a big truck and a passenger car. Law enforcement, fire departments and emergency medical responders have all been dispatched to the scene. Initial investigation reveals that a four-door passenger car was attempting to enter US Highway 41 northbound from the median or attempting to cross completely to Kasal Lane to the express truck stop Eagle. The car entered the path of a northbound semi-truck pulling a dump trailer loaded with scrap metal. After impact, the truck entered the eastern ditch and overturned. The passenger car sped onto the southbound lanes and the lone female driver was ejected and later pronounced dead at the scene by the Marinette County medical examiner. The truck driver got stuck inside the overturned wreckage. After a long extrication effort, he was released and taken to hospital with serious injuries. The victim has been identified as Kathy Ann Trepanier, 67, of the town of Grover. The driver of the truck was Lowell Reek, 64, of Pulaski, his current condition is unknown. The accident is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Marinette County Medical Examiner.
