226 officers from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) were promoted.
The senior leadership promotion was revealed on Sunday in a statement by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Ms Aisha Rufai.
Rufai revealed that the promotion result was approved by the board on May 19, taking into account merit and other considerations such as the principle of federal character.
According to her, 66 senior NCoS officers have been promoted including 23 officers to the post of Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) and 43 to the rank of Comptroller of Corrections (CC).
The NIS registered a total of 98 officers: four officers at the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration (DCGI), 24 at the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration (ACGI), and 70 at the rank of Comptroller of Immigration (CIS).

A total of 62 NSCDC officers were promoted: five officers at the rank of Deputy Corps Commander General (DCG), 22 officers at the rank of Deputy Corps Commander General (ACG), and 35 officers at the rank of Corps Commander (CC) .
She urged the newly promoted officers to continue contributing their quota to the fulfillment of their mandates and the internal security of the country.
The Secretary said that although the Federal Fire Service (FFS) is a member of the board, the promotion list did not include any FFS officers as their promotion was pending. (NOPE)
